1. Information we collect
We collect the information needed to review and manage a booking, including name, email address, phone number, billing and handover details, selected vehicle, dates, payment status, booking status and customer messages.
Where required for a confirmed hire, we may request driving licence details, identity evidence, proof of address and verification documents.
2. How we use information
We use customer information to process reservation requests, take secure deposits, confirm availability, complete eligibility checks, arrange handover, send transactional emails, support customers and maintain operational records.
3. Payments and cards
Velaire does not store raw card details. Deposits and payments are handled by Stripe-hosted checkout. We store booking and payment status so the reservation, confirmation and operations portal stay in sync.
4. Service providers
We may use trusted providers for hosting, data storage, payment processing, email delivery, fraud prevention, operational support and insurance or eligibility checks. Information may also be shared where required by law or to respond to chargebacks, fines, damage claims or safety issues.
5. Retention and rights
We keep booking and operational records only for as long as needed for the relevant booking, accounting, legal, insurance, fraud prevention and customer support purposes. Customers can contact Velaire to request access, correction or deletion where applicable.
You can also ask about restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent where those rights apply under UK data protection law.
