1. Booking requests
A reservation request is not confirmed until Velaire Cars has accepted the booking, checked availability, reviewed driver eligibility where required and confirmed the relevant deposit or payment status.
We may decline or cancel a request where the vehicle is unavailable, details are incomplete, eligibility checks are not satisfied or we reasonably believe the booking presents a risk to the customer, vehicle or business.
2. Driver eligibility
The driver must hold the correct licence, meet the age and insurance criteria for the selected vehicle and provide accurate identity, contact and address details. Some vehicles may require additional checks before handover.
3. Handover and return
Velaire may complete an inspection at handover and return. The customer is expected to return the vehicle on time, in the agreed condition, with the agreed fuel or charge level and with all keys, documents and accessories supplied at handover.
4. Vehicle use
Vehicles must not be used for racing, track driving, off-road use, sub-hire, unlawful activity, smoking, carrying hazardous goods or any purpose outside the agreed hire terms. Mileage, geography and driver restrictions may apply.
Prohibited use includes unapproved drivers, reckless driving, competition use, towing, hire-and-reward activity, lending the vehicle to another person or taking the vehicle outside approved areas without written consent.
5. Mileage and late return
Each confirmed booking may include an agreed mileage allowance. Excess mileage, late return, extension, collection delay or additional delivery charges may apply where the customer exceeds the agreed terms or does not return the vehicle at the confirmed time and place.
6. Charges and responsibility
The customer remains responsible for agreed rental charges, deposits, late return charges, excess mileage, parking charges, congestion or clean air zone charges, tolls, fines, cleaning, fuel or charging shortfalls, lost keys and damage or insurance excess where applicable.
7. Final hire agreement
These website terms are customer-facing guidance. The final hire agreement, insurance conditions and any booking-specific written confirmation will apply to the confirmed reservation.
